Pushing My Trans Buttons
When I was younger, and somebody went off on a topic, and my children were there, we would signal to each other and touch a Button on our shirts and share a private joke. It meant, "we discovered somebody's button". I have some buttons. I hate not being believed. I hate letting somebody down after promising them I had something covered. I hate somebody being hurt because of me. I hate the thought of being a joke, and especially of being a trans joke. I saw this cartoon and it found one of my buttons. I've been told, nothing verbal can hurt us except for the things we fear about ourselves.
