Separation

My wife told me she was ready to be done with the marriage. I told her: me, too. We mutually agreed to separate after 35 years of marriage.

Our initial thought is, we'll do a permanent separation without intention of reunion or divorce. That doesn't roll off the tongue easily.

How do you refer to each other - My ex? Not true, formally. My seperatee? My estranged spouse?

The kids took it as well as could be expected.

It's a curious transition. It doesn't happen all at once. There are tugs back to the previous. I'm trying to avoid isolation.

It's a tragedy, wrapped in a clusterfuck, wrapped as a solution.

My use of klonopin is significantly reduced.
