Scaring Good Friends Unintentionally

I had an email from a good friend who's an outdoorsman, telling me that REI was running 50% off on kpersonal locator beacons. They are cool devices and do deliver a benefit.

I said to him, without thinking (of course) This is great! If you were going to kill yourself, you'd give somebody access to your userid/account and then there's a ground track of where you've been, so when they realize you're overdue they can look it up and find your body and effects.

It scares friends when you tell them things like that, and they know what you're dealing with.
